Wound Specialist Physician
Dr. Alexander grew up in East Texas and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. He attended medical school at Des Moines University and graduated in 2004. Dr. Alexander then completed an Internship in Family Medicine at the Texas A&M University Brazos Family Medicine Residency in Bryan, TX. This internship included direct care of patients inflicted with the cruel consequences of disease processes such as Diabetes and Atherosclerosis. Next, Dr. Alexander completed a 4 year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Texas Tech University in Amarillo, TX. Wound care was an integral part of his training including the care of complex surgical wounds, abscesses, and ulcers caused by a wide variety of disease processes. To further his interest and training in wound care, he completed a wound care and hyperbaric medicine course by Healogics at Ohio State University in 2018. In 2019, he became the Medical Director at the TMC Outpatient Wound Care Clinic in Sherman, TX helping the clinic earn multiple accolades for quality of care including "Wound Care Center of the Year" in 2019 and "Center of Excellence" in 2023. Dr. Alexander became a Certified Wound Specialist Physician by completing the requisite requirements of the American Board of Wound Management and passed their board exam March 2019. In December 2022, Dr. Alexander became a Diplomate of the American Board of Wound Medicine and Surgery by passing their board certification exam He is a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Wound Specialists. In January of 2024, Dr. Alexander opened the Apex Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Clinic in Sherman, TX. He is married to his wife Susan who is a Veterinarian. They have 3 children and have lived in Texoma since 2010. His hobbies outside of wound care include vegetable/fruit gardening, outdoor activities, exercise, barbeque connoisseurship, and watching his daughter's compete in soccer.
Wound Specialist Physician Assistant
Doug is originally from Paris, TX. He graduated Cum Laude from Austin College in Sherman, TX in 2018. Doug competed on the Austin College Tennis Team throughout college and was able to amass multiple recognitions including "SCAC All Academic Honor Roll," Austin College "Go Fellowship" scholarship, Austin College "Alfred Lafayette Ridings Scholarship for Outstanding Student in Health Science," and Dean's List. Doug completed his Master of Physician Assistant degree at Oklahoma City University in 2021. He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. He is certified in Business-Post Crisis Leadership by the University of South Florida Muma College of Business. Doug's hobbies outside of wound care include tennis, pickleball, exercise, and outdoor activities.
