Debridement is performed by our providers to remove devitalized tissue including slough, biofilm, bacteria, and epibole to promote healing and reduce infection risk. Platelets that are in the blood of the debrided wound release growth factors which encourage quicker healing and reduce the risk that the wound stalls or becomes chronic.
Grafix PL is a human placental tissue product composed of native living cells, growth factors and an intact extracellular matrix.
Oasis Burn Matrix is a natural extracellular matrix derived from two layers of porcine small intestinal submucosa. It provides an intact three-dimensional extracellular matrix which allows for host cell migration. Its thickness allows for easy fixation.
Theraskin is a biologically active human cadaver skin. It has an at-ready supply of growth factors, cytokines and collagens. As your wound heals, the TheraSkin will be absorbed or sloughed off in the healing process and be replaced by your own healthy tissue.
Dermagraft is a human fibroblast-derived dermal substitute comprising a cryopreserved, absorbable, three-dimensional polyglactin mesh substrate seeded with living neonatal dermal fibroblasts.
Apligraf is bioengineered with living cells to transform wounds from chronic to acute. Apligraf looks, functions, and responds like healthy skin.
Puraply AM provides a proactive foundation for controlling bioburden and preventing biofilm re-formation. It produces a sustained antimicrobial barrier effect between weekly debridements.
Epifix is a dehydrated human amnion/chorion membrane allograft. It contains a semi-permeable protective barrier that supports the healing cascade and protects the wound bed to aid in the development of granulation tissue. It provides a human biocompatible extracellular matrix.
Our clinic utilizes Perry Sigma 40 monoplace hyperbaric chambers which have a 40.5" internal diameter chamber, the largest in the idustry. This significantly reduces the incidence of claustrophobia, and the additional room inside the chamber allows for maximum comfort for our patients. The entire chamber is pressurized with near 100% oxygen, and the patient breathes the ambient chamber oxygen directly. We commonly utilize hyperbaric oxygen to treat Diabetic Foot Ulcers, Chronic Osteomyelitis, Soft Tissue Radionecrosis, Osteoradionecrosis, Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss, and many other conditions. Call us today to see if Hyperbaric Oxygen might be helpful for your health condition.
"Off-loading" is the process of removing excess pressure from an ulcer or wound. Our providers are skilled at Total Contact Cast application and removal which is considered the gold standard for off-loading the foot. We also utilize shoes, boots, cushions, knee walkers, wheel chairs, crutches, low air loss mattresses and other off-loading modalities to aid healing.
Negative Pressure Wound Therapy involves utilization of a medical device that promotes wound healing by applying negative pressure (a vacuum) to your wound. Your wound is covered by a dressing that protects the injured area. Negative Pressure Wound Therapy creates a closed environment to reduce infection risk, control drainage, and increases blood flow to the wound. Our Providers and Staff are knowledgeable and experienced with multiple different wound vacuums for wound healing. While other clinics can order wound vacuums for home health to manage, our staff are trained and able to remove and replace wound vacuums at each visit as well.
Compression therapy is vital for the treatment of Venous Leg Ulcers. Our clinic commonly utilizes compression wraps, farrow wraps, compression stockings, lymphedema pumps, and unna boots to support the healing process.
Healing can be delayed or even prohibited when there is inadequate blood flow. We utilize doppler assessment and Ankle Brachial Index in the office when indicated. If needed, we have the capacity to order comprehensive arterial and venous ultrasounds, and we work collaboratively with a variety vascular specialists to improve vascular status for healing.
Choosing the optimal dressing to encourage healing requires a provider with knowledge of the dressings available and which scenarios they are best utilized for. We employ a wide variety of dressings including Honey, Calcium Alginate, Santyl, Hydrofera Blue, Collagen, Silver, Mesalt, Xeroform, and Iodine to name a few.
Abscesses can be caused by a variety of etiologies. Our clinic commonly treats abscesses with in office Incision and Drainage, culture, and targeted antibiotic treatment if needed.
Our providers are able to order labs, diagnostic imaging, and pathologic analysis at Texoma Medical Center. We frequently utilize nutritional labs, cultures, inflammatory markers, and glucose testing. Our patients benefit from access to CT scans, MRI's, Ultrasounds, Bone Scans, and Fistulograms to identify and correct factors delaying healing. We send biopsies for Pathologic analysis when needed.
Our providers and nurses work collaboratively with many excellent home health agencies. We are able to order the initiation of home health services, and we send orders for wound care after each visit. Our nurses are available for home health nursing questions as needed for our patients.
